install reverse helper camera in the high mounted stop lamp.

I installed a reverse helper camera in the high mounted stop lamp. But when press brake pedal, screen is changed into red.

In the future, I cut high-mounted stop lamp if go stern.

2.5 inch liquid crystal panel

I will install 2.5 inch liquid crystal panel into meter panel. This panel always disaplys map information maybe.

added on VICS beacon receiver.

VICS means, in Japan, Traffic information system. That provides traffic jam, traffic accident information and so on. Those use 3 media, conventional FM radio station and infrared-ray beacon, radio frequency beacon.

FM radio provides wide area traffic information.

On the other hand, there are the beacons along the roads and high ways. These beacons provide ahead-side real-time traffic information. Some navigation system use this real-time information to reroute for avoiding traffic jammed point.

Rear-view monitor built-in a rear view mirror.

  

Toggle switch which controls navi and iPod video outputs.

  

I almost use rear-view mirror built-in display to look navigation map and iPod Video and Rearview monitor. But my display's video inputs are only two. Input 1 is for rear-view monitor which automatically switched on by shifting stick to reverse position.

So I use input 2 for navagation and iPod video

The toggle switch has three mode:
+ Navigation
+ iPod
+ iPod with interruption by navigation guidance

10 inch display unit ready for Mac

Within this year I will install Mac OSX machine into my car. I'm going to use iTunes, Mail, Skype on the Mac.

I bought the 10 inch used display unit and display controller for this purpose. The Internet connection will be plan to be realized by Wilcom W-SIM real internet plan for metropolitan area, by FOMA Mopera service for hi-speed transportation and in outskirt area.

Can I make a night vision system by myself?

Current luxuary car has a night vision option. For example that use infrared ray camera, infrared ray light and real-time motion processing. And that helps a driver to found an obstacles that can not see by human-eyse.

First of all, I got infrared-ray camera and infrared-ray filter. And set up camera on center of front window.

When could I realize a night-view function?

upgrade to CD-Changer Navigation system.

Now in japan, most of car navigation systems has hard dsik drive for navigation map data, static traffic jam information. And brand-new systems had hard disk music player function likes iPod, and DVD player function with 5.1 channel theater sound. And brand-new navigation systems is very expensive.(High-end model's price is over 2,000USD)

But I do not need such a rich functions. I need 1) where am I? 2) where is my goal. I only need minimal functions. Then I bought used CD Cahnger Navigation at net auction(the price is only 80USD).

But CD's data transfer speed is very slow compared with hard disk drive. This make route search function very slow. That point is not addmitted.

By the way, now ther are simple some navigation systems with 4or5 inchs small display and solid memory(i.e. SD etc.). But these do not have a video output. That is why I do not buy new one.

Installing MD changer unit into rear luggage space

 

I have old many music libraries as MD media, so I bought the MD unit on Yahoo auction.

When navigation unit is active, always car audio will be muted. But if mute cancel is activated, audio muting for navigation guidance is cancelled.

Reset button for ALCON in a cups holder.

 

According to ALCON specification. It needs to off-on action by ignition key for learning a infrared-ray new function. This is very inconvenient. So I installed push-off switch for ALCON.

These two holes are ALCON and original learning remote control unit for SONY rotary commander. Last one hole is reserved for indicator of original learning remote control unit.
